Project description

The owner of a late-life asset discovered degradation in carbon steel piping at the start of the existing concrete penetration. Based on the solutions and technical knowhow, IK Topside performed a FEED study and was awarded the contract for EPC and installation offshore.  

The following steps were taken to perform the work safely and effectively:  

• Site survey with 3D scanning of needed volumes   
• Extensive testing to select the correct secondary injection sealant   
• A 6″ wall clamp system was designed utilising super duplex materials where the secondary sealant volume was sealed off using long-life polymer seals  
• The system was installed, allowing the client to re-establish the integrity of the system.
